Vacationist League: Music
Sprockytown Confidential
(Vacationist League)
John Tilson
Sitting on a bench drinking my beer
No place to go ‘cept after another.
Drink all my money away
some folks may save theirs for a rainy day
I say let ‘em drink in the rain, I’m gonna work on my tan.
Nothing left to do about it.
The fall may see me change
but I doubt it.
Winter’s coming on
Bottle of whiskey helps to keep me warm
I’ve got no place to be, but I still hold a key.
Not gonna turn it right now
Landlady’s nephew has been watching out
He says we need to talk, but I’d rather walk
There’s nothing left to say about it.
I’ll wait for Spring to bring my thaw.
Next Summer, I’ll be sitting by the pool
or lazing by the beach, looking real cool
with my killer tan, and my feet in the sand
I will not be missing you at all.
And a beautiful girl with almost nothing on
will rise from her towel
and bring me my beer...
but I doubt it.
