Vacationist League: Music
Fool Circle
(Immature Scientist / Vacationist League)
Fool Circle
It's been 28 years
since I was your age.
Tempered by my tantrums
now I seek to assuage
you on your inchmeal climb
along the jutting cliffs
out onto the brink of bliss
then over the precipice
like Sisyphus.
Fool circle
once again I'm asking questions
and following directions.
Fool circle
without being cajoled
I will do what I'm told
Fool circle
360 months old.
My voice is changing again
through let us pray
from amen
it's so reticent
so hesitant
so slow to deride and so quick
to keep listening
This silent strength's immense
whatever I'm up against
I can deny without denial
and defy remaining undefiled
Fool circle...
I'm an electron now
swirling in my electron cloud
This negative energy
binds my post-post nuclear family
And if you can't relate
get outta my eigenstate
My heart's on the wire
and my love won't abate
Spiraling my way back toward ground
This year's a bitter pill
there is mold on the heel
my heart is an offering
a stopgap for suffering
I seek no master plan
but I won't leave my faith unmanned
I've learned the lesson of the sand:
No love can exist in your clenched fist,
only in the palm of your proffered hand.
